This week I threw some cones to test Jeff Campana’s dissect and reattach method! I’m super excited to be creating physical work. (3D printing you will not go in vain. You are missed and extremely helpful and will probably be revisited in the near future.) I sketched out some cup forms to recreate, but I mainly focused on trying to throw a cone cup in a reasonable time rather than perfecting shape. I also have been really wanting to use a slab and bisque mold on the wheel. I’ve seen people compress on the wheel and either attach a coil foot or throw a foot! Both sound super fun, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Dirtbags prepared for the Meet Your Maker Arts & Crafts Festival at Hermitage Farm this week. There were firemen and campus police called (apparently for no reason), but everyone did well in preparing and finishing up firings. The market went okay. It was a bit slow, but it seems that the consumer market right now hasn’t been doing well in general.

This upcoming week I’m looking forward to trimming those cups and testing out cutting them apart and reattaching.
