This was the first week back into the studio after winter break. This semester will move differently as the curriculum is based on building specialized tools that will aid in our individual practices. I made a wiggle wire cutter that is fairly short for wheel throwing and a small scoring tool. Brian taught us how to use epoxy putty, or kwikwood, to use as the handheld base of the scoring tool and handles or knobs of the wire tool. I’m excited to play with both of these, particularly the wire cutter to see if I can dependably use the wire cutters to make consistent cuts.

We also did a dirtbags meeting and talked about NCECA and SXPF. For SXPF, I’m going to make a google form and send an email out to dirtbag members and ask them to vote who they will like to see for an artist demonstration and lecture.
