This week I proposed my semester plans to my cohort. I talked about how I had hand cut all my letters from Nhớ Con, and how I plan to use either Tinkercad or Shapr3D to create clay cutters. In the past, I did all capital letters in a “standard” boxy font. With 3D printing, I’ll be able to produce different styles and fonts much more efficiently.
There were also some suggestions on video editing/decision making. Similarly to Tuan Andrew Nguyen’s Uh, someone shot the idea of putting together several slaking clips of different backgrounds but aligning the slaking text in the center throughout all clips. I’m super excited to look into editing and exploring different backgrounds outside of the sterile, all white environment.
I didn’t get to it this week, but I’m hoping to get into IUS’s Gear Lab soon to look at recording equipment. I also threw four practice cylinders just to continue practicing wheel throwing, but had my first studio casualty when flipping them to prep for trimming. Hopefully, these cylinders can become cups for the upcoming Heritage Farms market in October.
